When Manny Pacquiao sets foot on the ring for his coveted world title fight against Sugar Shane Mosley on May 7, one peculiar thing will happen: he’ll be wearing lemon-yellow gloves. The yellow gloves, Pacquiao said is his epitome of struggle to end poverty in the Philippines. “This Saturday I will wear yellow gloves as a symbol of unity. All my life I have had to fight. At first as a child, I had to fight just to get something to eat,” said Pacquiao in his final press conference days before the fight. “I believe this world needs new heroes. The biggest fight in my life is not in boxing but it is now to end poverty in my country.”

Well, Pacquiao will be defending his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown against Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Nevada this Saturday. The boxing conference which was held inside the MGM Hotel’s Hollywood Theater went smoothly minus all the trash talks which is just sick common in most pre-fight presses. “I’m so happy for this fight because there is no trash talks, the fight will happen without the trash talks and it’s a good example for the children who look up to the fighters. In my life it’s my experience that the best promotion has been the Shane Mosley fight because everybody is like friends.” Pacquiao said. The 39-year old Mosley has in fact a 3 ½ inch height advantage and 7 ½ inch width span compared to Pacquiao, yet the fact that he’s 7 years Pacquiao’s senior heavily favors Pacquiao.

Mosley on the other hand does not even mind that he’s the underdog. He even grins and says that everything is just perfectly fine, and his main goal is to grasp at victory and the win. “We can talk about me being the underdog after the battle. I can do all the things I used to d five years ago. Don’t ask me about ten years ago because I can’t remember back that far,” Mosley even added with a silly joke. Included in those who attended the press conference were Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman and Canadian singer-songwriter who is Pacquiao’s idol, Dan Hill.
